I’ll Make it Easy for You…

If you’re interested in hiring me to do some freelance copywriting for you, I’ll make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

I pride myself in turning out high quality copy AND being easy and pleasant to work with (there’s no prima donna sitting behind this keyboard!).

Here’s how the process works:

I’ll Provide a Quote…

You’ll tell me about your project, and I’ll follow up with any questions I might have. Once I have an understanding of the scope of your project, I’ll provide you with a quote…a REAL quote.

Not some “Oh, well, hmm, let’s see …I think it will cost about $xxx for your project – more or less, give or take” type of quote, but a firm, to-the-dollar quote.

And that’s what you’ll pay for your project. Period. (Unless, obviously, you decide to change the scope of your project midstream. And in that case, we’ll just repeat the quoting process.)

If your project ends up taking me twice as long as I expected, you’ll still pay the quoted amount, and not a penny more.

If you’re a first time client, then once we’ve agreed to terms I’ll commence work after you’ve provided a deposit of 1/2 the quoted amount. If we’ve worked together before then the deposit won’t be necessary.

Can’t stomach my quote?

Then you’ve lost nothing but a bit of time. I’m happy to provide quotes for free, and requesting a quote places you under no obligation to use my services.

Then I’ll Get to Work…

But before I get started writing, I’ll make sure I have everything I need.

I’ll probably have a number of questions for you (or the appropriate person). And I’ll probably be able to use all the background information you can provide. Maybe even some old marketing materials like brochures, flyers, sales sheets and such.

Just whatever you can provide to help me understand your product, your company, your customers, AND your competition as thoroughly as possible.

And be forewarned – I WILL make myself a bit of a pest if need be to get the info I need! After all, you don’t want an ignorant copywriter writing your marketing copy, do you?

OK, Here’s the First Draft…

Once I’ve completed a first draft, I’ll get it to you and then wait with bated breath for your response. Fortunately for both of us, the response is nearly always quite favorable.

But what if it’s not? What if I’ve missed the mark?

Then you’ll let me know where I’ve gone wrong, and I’ll try again. No extra charge. In fact, the fee that I quote for you covers up to 2 revisions should they be needed.

Again, rarely happens. Usually the first draft requires no more than a bit of tweaking, and quite often, not even that. But I’m not perfect. I could misunderstand what you want.

And in that case, I won’t leave you hanging. We’ll get it right – we have 3 tries in which to do so!

We’re done! Once you’ve paid me, you own the copyright to any copy and concepts I’ve delivered.
